All for one—
You know what they say?
“Hell is other people.”
Well, Heaven is some others.
See through,
You,
And too und two,
Meinfeelings,
Mainyearlings,
A sight,
A safe,
A flight,
A knave,
A lock;
and no key,
No need,
The door,
is open.
The kicker:
Always was.
Do you think?
The greats of Rome,
Of China,
Of Byzantium,
Of India,
of what?
Knew.
The kings, the emperors,
the tsars,
the kaisers, the doges.
The sultans, the shahs,
the emirs, the caliphs.
The pharaohs.
It’s a mess.
The khans, the khagans.
The rajas, the maharajas,
the padishahs.
The emperors, the kings,
the shoguns.
The neguses, the obas.
The Sapa Incas,
the tlatoanis.
It’s all a mess.
And it’s all one.
“You think that’s air you’re breathing.”
Pretty good.
You think that’s a civilization you’re living in.
It’s a bubble.
We blow together.
It’s all one.
Ours lasts forever:
Pop!
Maybe not.
And what does a woman want?
Merely someone she feels worthy of her love.
All for one,
And no one forever.
They fall like ice sheets.
And only for a century,
Or a few,
Or some millennia,
And the ice is still here.
The highest are lowest.
