What for most of us,

is a normal human behaviour,

in so many domains of life,

some public Christian American communities exalt,

as if requiring supernatural heft to be a regular person.

‘The Laws of Nature must change for me to forgive,’

is the implication.

Why does common humility and compassion require a Saviour?

It is — literally — moral stunting.

The scammers and grifters are flying in, too,

to fleece the flock.

One can see this in the reverse as well:

“Why did that specific clergy member rape that nun?”

“Uh, the Devil made him do it. Uhm, demons tempted him.”

Happy to see it happen, wish it didn’t require the unfortunate murder of one of their heroes.

By the way, the Fall is here.

Fun season.
